Hi, I’m Liana Grey, educator, baker, food blogger, and founder of Kitchen Chemistry.
Kitchen Chemistry is a family-run business rooted in two things I love: teaching children and baking. My almost 6-year-old twins are my enthusiastic helpers. We even completed ServSafe food handler training together!
How Kitchen Chemistry Began
Years ago, I trained as a pastry chef at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York and made desserts at a small TriBeCa restaurant.
During pastry school, I volunteered at an after-school program and discovered my true passion: teaching kids through food. Since then, I’ve taught hundreds of kids that the kitchen is where math, science, and culture come alive.
My Teaching Background
I’m a certified teacher. I’ve taught in classrooms, run hands-on STEM and culinary programs for nonprofits, and founded child-centered preschools in the Chicago area. Here in Atlanta, I brought Kitchen Chemistry classes to a local preschool and taught a homeschool learning pod, weaving baking into the curriculum. I’m excited to continue bringing food-based learning experiences to Atlanta-area families.

Why baking?
Children learn best when they experiment, engage with all five senses, and have fun. In addition to strengthening academic skills, baking encourages curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and confidence.
